One with the Sun

Here's a few snaps from my Cincinnati experience
including my solo show at Carl Solway Gallery
up through March 31

Carl Solway Gallery

Paik and "Bucky" Fuller in the racks -
2 artists that Carl worked closely with

Me with Carl Solway in front of my painting Strange Radiance

Installing the show

With my dad who flew in from KC for the opening

Me with Sliverstar

a couple of kinetic sculptures by Diane Landry
were installed in the office. A lovely transformation
of plastic bottles into something ecstatic and sublime

A view of John Torreano's concurrent solo show Dark Matters Everywhere

John's video of an art history stand-up comedy performance

John Torreano and friend in front of one of his paintings

I love these Suzy Lake photos which were up in the gallery's office

a couple views of Cincinnati - very scenic with lot's of
brick buildings surrounded by hills and the Ohio river

looks like Germany

art deco building ornament downtown

the Roebling bridge over the Ohio river - a precursor to the Brooklyn Bridge

Looking over the river to Kentucky - next time I want to check out the Bourbon Trail

John Torreano and Michael Solway at Scotti's restaurant
one of the oldest in the area with a great atmosphere

a recently renovated building in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood

At Tucker's - Thomas had to try Goetta which sounds German,
but is a Cincinnati invention combining oats and pork into a breakfast delight
I had shrimp and grits

A gallery in Over-the-Rhine called "We are all Vikings"

one of many beautiful brick buildings in the OTR

I wanted to try this tiny new restaurant Abigail Street
but never got a chance - next time!
