PST

If you like art you have to be in LA right now!

The Getty's Pacific Standard Time initiative is exploding all over town.
Over the next 6 months 60+ institutions will have exhibitions focused on art in LA from 1945-1980.

LA is finally getting the recognition it deserves as a major center of art production. Yes!

There are too many good shows to list. Here are a few I will definitely not miss.

Under the Big Black Sun: California Art 1974-1981 at MOCA

California Design, 1930-1965: Living in a Modern Way at LACMA
including a recreation of Charles and Ray Eames living room
Asco Elite of the Obscure, A Retrospective, 1972-1987 at LACMA
including works by my old neighbor, Patssi Valdez

The House that Sam Built: Sam Maloof and Art in the Pomona Valley, 1945-1985 at the Huntington

From Start to Finish, De Wain Valentine's Gray Column at the Getty
Crosscurrents in L.A. Painting and Sculpture, 1950-1970 at the Getty

PLEASE POST IN THE COMMENTS WHAT PST SHOWS YOU
ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO!
