Studio Event with Ali Smith

Ali Smith hosted a group of artists, historians, curators and designers 

at her studio on Signal Hill in Long Beach. It was the first in a series of events 

focused on women in the arts. It was great to see all her work 

in progress and meet some cool women!

Studio Visit with Astri Swendsrud

Recently I visited Astri Swendsrud in her Glassell Park Studio.

We talked about women magicians, the history of spiritual and occult belief in Los Angeles,

 the everyday magic of blowing out birthday candles, and her love of party supply stores.

Astri has curated an exhibition opening Saturday 3/5, 7-10pm
